Years ago I sailed boats for a living and searched for waves in my dreams and free time. Those notions have led me to seek solace in end-of-the-road ports of call. The salt air heals and the coastline continually offers inspiration and optimism in my life — one that has been equally tragic and beautiful.

As a way to express my appreciation for the latter and to simply endure the former, I’ve found that the basic act of creating often accomplishes both. And as someone who has always struggled to find the words to tell my story verbally — my photography, design, and writing have proven a worthy alternative and means to reveal what I’m feeling on the inside.

Self-taught in technique and experimental in nature, I find inspiration in timeless design, iconic style, classic color combinations, and folks who have chosen the path less traveled. But my biggest inspirations — and most consistent subjects — are my two kids who, despite hardships of their own, have always managed to smile and to give me the benefit of the doubt, even when I’ve stumbled.

I launched Coast Projects in 2012 — a Key West based artist collective turned apparel brand — where I still work as the creative director. This portfolio here, however, represents my more personal works as an artist and designer — as well as my writing samples which help chronicle and rationalize my life.

Occasionally I take on freelance and collaborative projects — and if you’re interested in any of my pieces, I’m open to sales. That said, the goal of this site is not to sell my work or myself — it’s for me to document, discover, and dive into what’s going on in my own head.
